Carolina Bowl History
The Carolina Bowl started out as the Junior Shrine Bowl in 2012 as a certificate program for 25 of the top 6th grade players within the local SC and NC area. As word spread this program continued to be a success all the way through 2014. In 2015, we decided to discontinue the certificate program which created tremendous momentum to launch the first ever 6th Grade Junior Shrine Bowl “Battle of the Borders” All-star game that represented players from all over the Carolina’s. This continued into 2016 with a bigger and better game that took the spot light in a big way. Facing growth challenges within our current structure we decided to make a forever changing decision that would add the first ever Board of Directors. This only made sense as we officially become a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. With the addition of professional fire power, we quickly decided to brand a new game called the CAROLINA BOWL. The decision was made to effectively without any dispute separate the two games to clearly share our message through our Platform, “Kids HELPING Kids”. We also realized that the past experiences can never be taken away and will grow with the addition of the 7th and 8th grade games to the new CAROLINA BOWL.
